… one of the four subject-matter domains in public management
Institutions and Context is one of four subject-matter domains used in the Atlas to map the field of public management.
Institutions and Context can be thought of as a general preparation domain because it is not focused on a specific management function or policy area. Subjects in Institutions and Context tend to have a “why does” orientation, whereas subjects and topics in the other general preparation domain, Analysis and Skills, tend to have a “how to” orientation.
